The City of Yucaipa in conjunction with “Make a Difference Day” is planting 400 trees at two different locations throughout the City. The 400 trees will consist of nine different species. A total of 300 trees will be planted at Flag Hill Memorial Park at Yucaipa Boulevard and Fremont Street. The remaining 100 trees will be planted along 13th Street from Yucaipa Boulevard to Chapman Heights Road. The trees will all be planted on October 27th, 2007 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 noon as a part of “The Great Clean Air Tree Planting Project”. Yucaipa will receive the most trees to be planted of any community in the San Bernardino/Riverside County area. The trees are being provided through a grant from the South Coast Air Quality Management District. City crews, with the help of several contractors are busily preparing the sites for the October 27th planting date, including clearing, grading, auguring of holes, and installation of irrigation.
